“Dr. Clayton Lawrence Rock ‘n’ Rolled His Way Through Cleveland Marathon”

October 6 half marathon raises funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (MMD Newswire) October 7, 2013 — Dr. Clayton Lawrence, president of Washington, D.C.-based Lawrence Executive Alliance of Professionals (LEAP), ran the Rock ‘n’ Roll Cleveland Half Marathon on October 6 in Cleveland, Ohio. The founder of LEAP Foundation DC, Dr. Lawrence is excited to be a part of this importantfundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

For Dr. Lawrence, regular exercise is about far more than staying in shape. The Harvard-trained physician participates in at least one marathon a month, each supporting a different charity. October will be a particularly busy month for Dr. Lawrence, who is participating in The Army 10-Miler and Marine Corps Marathon for charity, in addition to the Cleveland marathon.
“I’ve been running distance for two years, completing my first marathon in October 2011,” Dr. Lawrence says. “Since that first race, I’ve enjoyed running more than 25 races in support of my favorite charities.” He is clearly regarded as a leader for health and fitness promotion by example. Dr. Lawrence is a former Army physician and distinguished veteran who has more than 18 years of experience as a civilian and military doctor. A lifelong philanthropist, Dr. Lawrence is also founder of LEAP Foundation DC, a nonprofit organization that supports a myriad of health and educational initiatives. Since being founded four years ago, LEAP Foundation DC has been recognized nationally for its work at the grassroots level, both in the DC area and in communities around the country.

Marathon organizers hope to help raise $25 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which works to find cures for children’s cancer. Each fundraising effort puts St.
Jude closer to realizing its goal of saving the lives of children. The Cleveland marathon is one of many such events held around the country to help fund the efforts of the research hospital.
